Itinerary:

  PART I: CELTIC CHRISTIANITY PILGRIMAGE:

Day 1: March 31 (Tue)Arrival in London

  • Upon arrival you will be assisted by our Local Representative.
  • Board the bus to transfer to a country inn, a peaceful retreat that sets the stage for our next days of inspiration and learning. Dinner at the hotel.

Day 2: Apr 01 (Wed)Oxford & C.S. Lewis

  • Tour Magdalen College (CS Lewis and Tolkien), the University Church of St Mary the Virgin, the Radcliffe Camera and Radcliffe Square Hertford College (Tyndale), Bodleian library, (King James Bible),Balliol College (Wycliff).
  • Travel to Headington to visit the Kilns, where CS Lewis lived and Holy Trinity Headington. Dinner at a local pub before returning to hotel.

Day 3: Apr 02 (Thu)Cotswolds

  • Wander through picturesque Cotswolds Villages, brimming with charm and learn about the Tudors.

Day 4: Apr 03 (Fri)Cambridge & York

  • Travel to Cambridge (King’s College, Round Church, Tyndale House); free time for then onward to York. Dinner before checking in at York.

Day 5: Apr 04 (Sat)York’s Living Legacy

  • Explore York University and stroll through the Shambles.

Day 6: Apr 05 (Sun)Durham Cathedral & Saints

  • Visit Durham Cathedral, resting place of St. Cuthbert and the Venerable Bede. Other Highlilghts of Durham: The Market Place, Framwellgate Bridge, Prebends Bridge, Durham Riverside, City walls,The Bailey,Palace Green
  • Durham Castle,Elvet Bridge, The Old Racecourse, Durham Prison, On your own: Join Sunday worship

Day 7: Apr 06 (Mon)Seahouses

  • Travel to Seahouses on 1.5-hour journey north through the scenic countryside of County Durham and Northumberland. Arriving in the charming harbour town of Seahouses, to spend the next 3 nights here learning about Celtic Christianity.

Day 8: Apr 07 (Tue)To Lindisfarne, Holy Island

  • Cross the causeway (tide-permitting). Visit Lindisfarne Priory, St. Aidan’s Statue, and St. Mary’s Church. Enjoy a sunset beach walk. Return to hotel in the Seahouses.

Day 9: Apr 08 (Wed)Farne Islands

  • Visit Inner Farne in the Farne Islands (boat trip) for a nature trip and views of wildlife and history.

Day 10: Apr 09 (Thu)Edinburgh

  • Early drive to Edinburgh; drop off at hotel. Free time or (optional) prearranged tour.

Day 11: Apr 10 (Fri)Farewell UK

  • Return home with renewed faith and unforgettable memories
  PART II: Retreat with John and Ali Newell in IONA

Day 10: Apr 09 (Thu)Arrive in Edinburgh

  • Upon arrival in Edinburgh, pilgrims will assemble and meet with the group.

Day 11: Apr 10 (Fri)IONA transfer

  • After breakfast- transfer to Craignure port

  • Oban – Ferry to Mull – Fionnphort. Oban → Craignure (Mull) (45 mins – CalMac Ferries). Scenic drive across Mull to Fionnphort (~1.5 hrs). Take another ferry to Iona.

Day 12-19: April 11 (Sat) to April 18 (Sat)Iona Pilgrimage with John Philip and Ali Newell

  • Retreat with John and Ali Newell in IONA

Day 20: Apr 19 (Sun)Iona-Glasgow

  • Ferry Iona-Fionnhort. Drive across Mull-Craignure. Ferry, Craignure-Oban. Oban-Glasgow drive. Overnight Glasgow/Edinburgh

  • Transfer to airport for return flight to Manila via Dubai.

Day 21: Apr 20 (Mon)Return Home

  • Transfer to airport for return flight to Manila via Dubai.
  EXTENSION TO IONA ISLAND

Day 11: Apr 09 (Thu)IONA Group

  • Depart Seahouses for a scenic drive to Oban via Edinburgh. Drop of Pilgrims at Edinburgh hotel.

Day 12: Apr 10 (Fri)IONA transfer

  • After breakfast- transfer to Craignure port
  • Oban – Ferry to Mull – Fionnphort. Oban → Craignure (Mull) (45 mins – CalMac Ferries). Scenic drive across Mull to Fionnphort (~1.5 hrs). Take another ferry to Iona.
  • Day Tour in Iona.
  • Overnight in Iona.

Day 13: April 11 (Sat)Transfer to Edinburgh for flight to Manila

  • Transfer to airport for return flight to Manila via Dubai.
